Mike's Bike Archive

For over a decade, Mike Tiberio contributed a monthly column, "Mike's Bike" to the Moto Guzzi Owners News, the newsletter of the U.S. Moto Guzzi Owners Club. His column documented his racing career, beginning in the the late 1980's, as he competed in the AMA's Pro Twins class and other similar racing classes on a number of Guzzis that he built and maintained. The following archive contains text from articles of this time period.  Pro Twins Class was truly a grand heyday of twins racing in the US, as Mike competed alongside Dr. John Witner, Dale Quarterly, Jimmy Adamo, Alan Cathcart and many other riders of note. Guzzi, Ducati, Bimota and other Italian twins of the 1970's and 80's figured prominently in this class, which is what lead to its untimate end as Harley Davidson's financial support of Pro Twins led to a Pro-Harley class restructuring that untimately undermined the class.

A brisk investigation of this archive will take you back to a time when Guzzis were competitive on the racetrack. Please enjoy this rare glimpse into an exciting piece of recent Guzzi racing history.
